How To Vaginal Steam At Home

Vaginal Steaming is an ancient preventative and healing treatment for 99% of gynecological issues! Learn how you can do one at home!

Things you need:

- A steaming chair, find one here.

- A pot to simmer herbs and water in.

- A towel to make a comfortable seat and to dry yourself after.

- Optional but highly recommended: A portable electric hot plate/burner to control the heat.

* You want to do at least 5-10 cycles of heat (turning up and down at comfortable temperatures).

- A journal and pen to jot down any thoughts that come up.

- A cup of tea, check out our teas here.

- A blanket wrapped around your waist to trap the steam.

Steaming Protocols:

  • For infections & viruses, steaming should be done for 10 days consecutively before your menstrual cycle begins or for 10 days consecutively after your bleeding ceases. This should be done for at least 3 months consecutively to clear out any bacteria or virus in the womb. After 3 months you may go down to doing it for only 2-3 days consecutively before or after your menstrual.

  • For Postpartum, you should steam for 30-40 days consecutively as soon as possible after giving birth. Make sure you have no hemorrhoids, good blood pressure/pulse and are hydrating! Hydration is very important postpartum, especially if you are breastfeeding.

  • For a mild cleanse and Womb healing maintenance, you should steam for 1-3 days consecutively, before or after your menstruation every month or every other month.

  • For Menopause, Vaginal dryness & Hot flashes, make sure you are steaming in a cool & well ventilated area. Steam 1-3 times a month for 15-20 minutes. 



  • Before you start, set up your seat in a quiet, undisturbed area with soft music, incense or candles, whatever makes you feel luxurious. 


  • Take a cleansing shower, cleaning your vulva with warm water only. NO SOAPS OR FEMININE WASHES.


  • Boil 1-2 Tbsp of herbal blend in a pot of water for about 10-15 minutes. Let cool to a comfortable temperature, about 5-7 minutes. Place under a steaming chair/seat. Click here to find the right chair for you. 


  • Sit for 20-30 minutes with a large blanket covering your entire body, trapping the steam below your vagina (yoni). Make sure the temperature is mild enough, it should not burn and should feel very comfortable. Close your eyes and enjoy! Drink plenty of water once complete. Should be done before going to bed.
